Très Zéro PARENT HOMEWORK – WEEK THREE
Dear Parents,
We hope your student excited about their role in the show. They were sent home with a script to start memorizing lines and working on their characters.
- This afternoon, we continued to “block” the show. Students are learning where to stand and what body movements are needed for each scene. Students will learn basic stage directions. Quiz your student on the stage directions of upstage, downstage, stage right, and stage left.
- Another skill we work on during this time in rehearsal is “cheating out” so most of the student’s body and face can be seen by the audience. Ask them to explain to you what “cheating out” means. Remind your student that this is the only acceptable form of cheating.
- You’re welcome to look through scripts but be warned, you might end up seeing a “spoiler” or two. There are lots of French words in this script. When you’re discussing fashion, you can’t help but touch on a country that has been a leader of fashion worldwide. The title is French and there are several other French terms introduced to your students through the story. Ask your student to find and show you a couple of the French words they’ve learned from the script. Help them with these new pronunciations.
- Please help your students “run” their lines every day in short sessions (i.e. no more than 15 minutes).
Thanks for supporting your student’s interest in learning and experience a theatre production!
